TOP PROS | TOP CONS |
---|---|
Excellent “risk versus reward” gameplay which blends perfectly RPG and turn based strategy elements that will keep you glued in front of your screen for hours on end. | Forgettable and uninteresting story that apart from a few cutscenes, is mainly told via dialogue boxes. |
Very nice sound effects espescially when trading blows with your enemies. | Punishingly difficult where one single mistake can ruin an entire run, and in this game each run clocks in around 2 – 3 hours (for experienced players). |
A hefty amount of unlockable characters, each one with his/ her own unique abilities and style of play. | Graphics outside combat sequences could use a lot of improvement. |
Procedurally generated enemies and environments that make each run feel unique and unpredictable. | Soundtrack is generally nice but gets boring eventually. |
VERDICT | An exciting roguelike game that, if you look past its steep learning curve and uninteresting story, will offer you tons of excitement and replayability. |
